Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 Strategy Hints & Tips
Improve your game with these tried and testing tips and hints :)
Prevent Vomit Patches
Rides that are particularly high intensity will make your guests feel sick. Place benches, first aid stations and drink stalls near the exist to these rides.
Keep an Eye on the Weather
Guests have certain behaviour patterns depending on the weather. In the rain, they won't go on water rides and when it's hot they're less likely to go on an indoors ride.
Manage Your Shops
- On hot days, increase the price of cold drinks (lemonade stall, drink stall, etc) and if necessary, shut hot drink stalls to save on maintenance.
- On wet days, increase the price of hot foods (burgers, chicken nuggets, hot chocolate, etc) and consider shutting ice cream stalls to save on maintenance.
- Have a cold drink stall near a hot food stall, because eating food items such as a burger makes the guests thirsty.
- Only place souvenir stalls, balloon stalls, etc by high-traffic areas, and only when you have a large amount of guests in your park.
- Place a cash machine by the entrance to your park, and at the very back. In parks where rides are free and entry costs money the entrance cash machine is particularly important to stop broke guests exiting straight away.
Increase Ride Excitement
Place scenery near to rides to increase the excitement of boring rides; pass coaster tracks through/around other rides to give a real boost.
Give your Guests Cool Names
Just for giggles, try naming your guests the following names:
- Melanie Warn — guest is immediately maximum happiness
- Chris Sawyer — guest takes lots of photographs
- Katie Brayshaw — guest waves at other guests
- Simon Foster — guest paints pictures
- John Mace — guest pays double for all rides
- Damon Hill — guest rides Go Karts fast
- Michael Schumacher — guest rides Go Karts very fast
- Mr Bean — guest rides Go Karts very slow
- John Wardley — guest constantly thinks 'wow'
